The Accuphase E-408 is a premium integrated stereo amplifier featuring a triple parallel push-pull output stage, MCS (Multiple Circuit Summing) topology in both preamplifier and power amplifier sections, and current feedback for optimal phase characteristics and low distortion. Released around 2003 and manufactured until 2010, it offers high power output suitable for demanding speakers (4-16Ω load), logic-controlled relays for short signal paths, tone controls, loudness compensation, and expandable functionality via optional plug-in boards such as AD-30/AD-50/AD-10 for phono (MM/MC), DAC-40/DAC-10 for digital inputs, and LINE-10 for additional analog inputs. It includes balanced XLR inputs, preamp outputs, dual speaker outputs, headphone jack, and RC-20 remote control. Known for its champagne-gold chassis, R-toroidal transformer, and exceptional build quality weighing 23.4kg.
