About the E407

The Accuphase E-407 integrated amplifier was manufactured in Japan from 1999 to 2003. It features a triple parallel push-pull output stage with multi-emitter power transistors designed for high-power audio applications, delivering 180 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 260 watts into 4 ohms. The amplifier uses a current feedback circuit topology that virtually eliminates phase shifts in the upper frequency range, ensuring outstanding sound quality and operational stability. It includes a massive toroidal power transformer for efficient power supply and low noise. The E-407 has six line inputs (four RCA and two balanced XLR), two tape recorder inputs with easy dubbing, tone controls with bass and treble adjustment, loudness compensation, and a mute function. It also features logic-controlled relays for the shortest signal path, a separator switch to independently use preamplifier and power amplifier sections, and an optional phono input board for analog record playback. The amplifier has a champagne gold brushed front panel with two large analog power meters, remote control, and weighs 23.7 kg. It is highly regarded for its dynamic, transparent sound and robust build quality.
