About the E-4000

The Accuphase E-4000 is a high-power, two-channel Class AB integrated stereo amplifier manufactured in Japan. Introduced in November 2022 as the successor to the E-480, it combines a sophisticated AAVA volume-control preamplifier with a power amplifier using instrumentation-amplifier topology and four-fold parallel push-pull bipolar output transistors. Its rated output is 180 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 260 watts per channel into 4 ohms. The amplifier includes balanced and unbalanced analog connectivity, separate preamplifier outputs and main inputs, tone controls, A/B speaker terminals, a headphone output, and two option-board slots for compatible Accuphase DAC or phono modules. Accuphase’s current product information lists the E-4000 as an active model, so it is not considered discontinued.
