About the DP777 Edition
The AMR DP-777 Signature Edition (SE) is a premier class digital processor and DAC that builds upon the original DP-777 with extensive upgrades. It features a robust aluminum chassis with premium build quality and a front panel with digital display and touch controls, complemented by a remote control. Internally, it uses the Gemini Digital Engine with two hand-selected DAC chips: a 32-bit Wolfson DAC optimized for high-resolution audio and a Philips 16-bit multibit DAC for CD-quality playback. The SE upgrade includes a quad-core digital engine, AMR Tri-Core Silver output capacitors, GE 5670 tubes with adapters, additional clock buffers, re-optimized clocking, a latest XMOS interface with proprietary firmware, and redesigned 4-layer gold-plated circuit boards. The unit employs tube output stages using Russian and GE tubes for analog signal amplification, enhancing musicality and reducing distortion. It supports multiple digital inputs including asynchronous USB (24/192), SPDIF (BNC, XLR, coaxial, optical), and analog inputs with selectable volume control modes. The DP-777 SE offers Zero Jitter Mode and Global Master Timing to minimize jitter and noise, delivering clear, natural, and lifelike sound with deep bass, smooth highs, and a dark background. It can also function as a high-end direct-coupled preamplifier. The product is available in black or silver finishes and supports worldwide voltage (115/230V). It is highly regarded in audiophile circles and has been recommended by Stereophile magazine.
