Yorx was a consumer electronics brand founded in 1972 by Alvin Tannenbaum in Totowa, New Jersey. The company was known for producing a wide range of affordable audio products, including boomboxes, stereo systems, cassette decks, karaoke machines, and turntables. Initially regarded as a higher-end brand, Yorx shifted toward entry-level offerings by the 1980s, becoming known for its all-in-one stereo systems with multiple formats (cassette, AM/FM radio, and often record player). The brand was sold to GPX in 2004. Yorx products remain collectible among vintage audio enthusiasts, particularly for their distinctive multi-function gadgets and iconic boomboxes.
