About Shuguang

Shuguang is one of the world's largest manufacturers of vacuum tubes, supplying both OEM and specialized hi-fi audio tubes for global amplifier brands and boutique audio companies. Founded in 1958 (with roots commonly cited also as 1965), Shuguang has developed over 120 types of vacuum tubes and produced more than 70 million tubes over its history. While originally a state-owned enterprise serving military demand, it later expanded to serve international audio and musical instrument markets. Shuguang's product range includes classic tubes such as 12AX7, 2A3, 6L6, 845, and 300B, with their tubes widely regarded for reliability and strong price-performance value. The main vacuum tube facility, based in Changsha, China, continues operation under state ownership, though company structure, subsidiaries, and branding have evolved. Notably, after a major factory fire some engineers founded the separate Linlai brand, but Shuguang itself has resumed production with a substantial product selection.
