About Scan Design
Scan Design was a prominent independent retailer specializing in modern, Scandinavian, and European-inspired home furnishings. Founded in 1964 by Jens and Inger Bruun, the company introduced Danish craftsmanship to the Pacific Northwest and expanded to multiple locations at its peak. Its curated lineup included high-quality brands such as ALF, BDI, Ekornes/Stressless, Greenington, Skovby, and more. After 61 years in business, Scan Design announced its closure in early 2025, with its last remaining store in Lynwood, WA permanently closing after a final liquidation sale.
