About Rives Audio

Rives Audio was a highly respected consulting and design firm specializing in small room acoustics for high-end audio applications. Founded by Richard Rives Bird in 2002, the company gained recognition for its room acoustics consulting services and proprietary products, most notably the PARC (Parametric Adaptive Room Compensation), a purely analog three-band parametric equalizer designed to address problematic room modes and improve bass response in listening environments. Rives Audio also provided comprehensive acoustic analysis, including professional measurement, design schematics, and customized treatment recommendations. The company expanded its influence in the high-end audio world by acquiring Talon Audio in 2006. Rives Audio officially closed in January 2015.
