Realistic was a hi-fi audio brand produced by RadioShack, a division of Tandy Corporation, to market a range of home audio and video products including receivers, record players, cassette decks, speakers, headphones, and communications equipment like CB and ham radios. Founded in 1969, the brand became one of the most recognized names for affordable, accessible audio and electronics in North America throughout the 1970s to the 1990s. The Realistic name was phased out in the mid-1990s, discontinued in 2000, and briefly revived in 2016. Many of its products are now prized among vintage audio collectors due to their quality and value.
