About MFA
MFA was an American high-end audio company founded by Bruce Moore and Scott Frankland that produced the Luminescence tube preamplifier line, including the Luminescence B1C, between 1983 and 1990. The preamps used all-octal vacuum tubes and were noted for an unusually strong phono stage. Frankland continued servicing and upgrading MFA units afterward on a word-of-mouth basis, but the company itself is no longer an active manufacturer.
