McCormack Audio is a respected American hi-fi audio brand founded by Steve McCormack, gaining prominence in the 1980s and 1990s with its high-value, high-performance amplifiers and preamplifiers, most notably the DNA series. Renowned for a transparent, dynamic sound and sturdy build quality, McCormack gear became a favorite among audiophiles seeking honest musical reproduction at accessible prices. In 1998, the brand was acquired by Conrad-Johnson, becoming McCormack Audio Corporation of Virginia, which continued producing and servicing McCormack products, often in collaboration with SMc Audio for upgrades. As of 2025, McCormack Audio has suspended production and has no remaining inventory, but service for existing products remains available through the company and Conrad-Johnson.
