About Hawthorne Audio

Hawthorne Audio was a boutique hi-fi audio brand founded by Darrel and Diana Hawthorne, known primarily for its innovative open-baffle loudspeaker designs. Their flagship Silver Iris coaxial drivers, created in partnership with Eminence, offered high efficiency and dynamic range, catering to audiophiles interested in open-baffle speaker systems. While praised for imaging and an organic sound signature, Hawthorne Audio also developed the Augie woofer for extended low-frequency response. As of the late 2010s, the company has discontinued its audio operations as the founders shifted focus to other pursuits.
